Nurse Practitioners

Our Nurse Practitioners are advanced registered nurses who are trained and educated to assess, diagnose and manage most common and many chronic illnesses. They can perform physical examinations, prescribe medications and refer on to a specific speciality if necessary.

Karen Wood

Lead Nurse for the Pinewood Site

 

Qualified RGN 1991, MSc as Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Non medical prescriber. Diplomas in Tissue Viability, Family Planning, Asthma and COPD. Has training in Minor Illness and Anti-Coagulation.

Pippa Hawkins

Lead Nurse for the Derby Site

 

MSc in Advanced Healthcare Practice, DipHe in Adult Nursing, BSc (Hons) in Acute Healthcare Practice (Intensive Care), Non-Medical Prescriber, with an interest in Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular system, Mental Health and Neurology.

Sonia Catley

Sonia is working towards her MSc in Advanced Healthcare Practice, BSc in Nursing Studies and has a special interest in Surgical care

 

Nurses

 

The Practice employs a large and capable nursing team.

 

We have five practice nurses and two health care assistants who are responsible for immunisations, dressings, health education and many other tasks.

Sandra Allen Our advanced practice nurse, Sandra Allen, runs clinics specialising in diabetes, chronic disease management and minor ailments. She is also able to prescribe a range of medication.
Emily Reed Emily specialises in CHD(Chronic Heart Disease) and CKD(Chronic Kidney Disease), holiday and child vaccinations.
Clare Wigg Clare specialises in child vaccinations, CHD, and is training in diabetes.

Louise Parry Louise our healthcare assistant specialises in Mental health and assists in diabetic reviews.
Tracey Hicks Tracey is our trainee health care assistant who specialises in NHS health checks, and hypertension reviews.
